12.1 What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device that help a website function and remember your preferences. Similar technologies (e.g. local storage) may be used for the same purposes.
12.2 Our approach
StoryMate uses strictly-necessary cookies and similar storage to run the Service and remember essential preferences, plus a product-analytics tool (PostHog) in the StoryMate app that helps us monitor errors and improve the Service. We do not use advertising cookies, cross-site (ad) tracking, or session recording, and we never sell your data.

Our analytics (PostHog) is first-party and used only to operate and improve StoryMate — it does not track you across other websites, does not record your screen or session, and is never used for advertising.
12.4 Managing cookies
The strictly-necessary cookies are essential — disabling them in your browser will prevent StoryMate from working correctly. Analytics storage is not essential; you can clear cookies and local storage at any time via your browser settings, and signing out removes the session cookie. We do not sell your data or track you across other websites.
